So, recently in Balochistan, there’s this little city called Surab population of somewhere 40,000 people , where a group known as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has taken control of pretty much everything—banks, police stations, government offices, you name it. And the thing which is surprising the most is The locals aren’t terrified or even upset with them .
In fact, they seem to be celebrating, cheering them up , snapping selfies with the members of the BLA. It’s like no one’s even trying to push back. Or resist infact they are cheering them and taking selfies.
You might think Why’s this happening? Well, the people’s in Balochistan province of Pakistan feel completely overlooked and mistreated by the Pakistan government. It’s the largest province in Pakistan, but only about 3.6% of Baloch people, and they’re really struggling for basic facilities with minimal development and widespread poverty.
Whenever someone dares to speak out or protest, seems! They just vanish. It’s eerie; people go missing, and no one seems to have a clue where they’ve gone. After years of this, the community is fed up, and now they’re rallying behind anyone who stands up to the government.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani government is trying to play it down, acting like it’s just a protest. But let’s be real—there are reports that the Baloch have declared their independence for May 9, 2025, and just a few months back, they hijacked an entire train in the Balochistan. Things are clearly ascending out of control.
This situation highlights the sheer frustration and anger of the people, and honestly, it might just signal the beginning of even bigger issues for Pakistan. If this keeps up, we could see more cities like Surab completely overtaken by the Baloch Liberation Front. It’s a wild time over there, for sure.
